Swiss Girl

This wonderful singer has studied her craft

March 2011

Expressive versatile vocals? Check. Tight band with creative jazz and pop arrangements? Check. You can tell this wonderful singer has studied her craft. It shows in these well-written and presented songs.

“Little Perfections” is a fun pop number that perks along with a great vibe. Her clear voice is like a wink - not smug but like she knows something we don't. The song has some interesting melodic changes and conversational lyrics with great images that really shine. “Swiss Girl” is also pop but with a more driving groove. It sounds polished enough for radio but much better than what's on most playlists. The lyrics are fun, too, talking about all the assumptions we make because she's a swiss girl. In “A Timeless Place” she shows off her jazz chops. There's a really fine acoustic bass tying it all together although the rest of the band's no slouch either. Her voice sounds a little breathy at the start then builds, perfectly matching the lyrics.

Wonderful songs. I'd love to hear more from her.”
